CONFERENCE SCOPE

The Fourth International Conference on "Pedestrian and Evacuation Dynamics" is aimed at scientific exchange for scientists, experts and practitioners of various fields of pedestrian and evacuation dynamics, like human behaviour research, modeling and simulation of pedestrian or animal motion, safety design, building regulations, safety consultants, simulation of evacuation processes, etc.

The conference is scheduled to run three days, from 27th - 29th February 2008, at the University of Wuppertal, Germany.

The main topics discussed will be:

Human behaviour in emergency and non-emergency situations, focused on psychology, influence of design, wayfinding, etc.
Modeling of pedestrian dynamics
Animation of pedestrian movement
Evacuation simulation in different surroundings, like buildings, ships, trains, tunnels, etc.
Experiments on pedestrian and evacuation dynamics
Modeling and simulation of animal motion
etc...
