SOCIAL EVENTS

As social events we plan:

The "Kaiserwagen" is a famous and historical waggon (built in 1900) of the "Wuppertaler Schwebebahn". The "Wuppertaler Schwebebahn" is a suspension railway in Wuppertal and very popular. The full name of the "Wuppertaler Schwebebahn" is "Eugen Langen Monorail Suspension Railway" (Einschienige Hängebahn System Eugen Langen, in German).

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will take place in the Gästehaus (Guest House) of the University of Wuppertal on Tuesday, 26th February 2008, in the evenings. Informations about how to reach the Gästehaus will be presented in future.

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will take place in the Wuppertaler Stadthalle (Townhall of Wuppertal) on Thursday, 28th February 2008, in the evenings. The Wuppertaler Stadthalle can be reached by 10min walking from Wuppertal Central Station.

Social Event

As our social event we organize a round trip with the "Kaiserwagen" (see picture below). The round trip will take place on The round trip is limited to 120 people, thus is may be possible that not all conference participants can participate at this social event. More informations about this can be found in the registration form. A round trip in the evenings is not very interesting, because you will only see "the lights of Wuppertal", thus we decided to organize the round trip at 12:00 noon, where you can see the Wuppertal by day. A bus transfer from conference building to the "Kaiserwagen" station will be organized.
